Max Scoular
Max’s career has centered on building leadership teams that drive real change. Max’s work in the social sector has included board service with Social Venture Partners International, Mission Capital, Westcave Outdoor Discover Center, and other nonprofit organizations. Max is also the founder and non-executive chairman of PierceGray, a retained executive search firm with offices in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco that partners with global investment organizations on developing effective leadership teams. Earlier, Max was a key executive with internet innovator FreeMarkets, joining the company shortly after its founding and staying through its sale to Ariba (SAP).
Max started his career in the public sector, working with the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. and with the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City before beginning his business career with McKinsey & Company, serving clients both domestically and internationally.
In his spare time, you will often find Max hiking the trails of Austin with a trusty border collie or two. He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Stanford University.
